Safety Strategies For Seniors
In November Chief Inspector Kim Kellaway of the Queensland Police Service spoke on safety strategies for seniors. She gave some practical tips and suggestions which can be easily applied to enhance personal safety for seniors. For further information on personal safety, see the link under the Activities tab on this website.
No Safety, Know Pain. Know Safety, No Pain.
External Activities - Members of the Forest Lake Probus Club enjoy the activities and friendships afforded by other diverse clubs and organisations. These include walking groups, movies, bus trips, motor car racing, sports, photography, bowls (indoor and lawn) theatre and many other interests. Therefore, on the advice of members, it has not been necessary for this Probus Club to offer duplicate activities to those available elsewhere. We are, however, always open to suggestions for alternative activities that our members can enjoy within our club. These can be for large groups or simply small gatherings of like-minded individuals. Whatever you wish to participate in, it should be for your benefit and enjoyment so some activities may only be found in other organisations.
Supporting Children Through The Challenges Of Bullying
Supporting children through the challenges of bullying, especially online, is so important. Recently, I spoke with a parent whose child had been experiencing cyberbullying, and I shared this guide
https://www.wizcase.com/blog/a-comprehensive-cyberbullying-guide-for-parents with her.
With this guidance, she felt more equipped to help her child. It offers actionable steps and tools for identifying, preventing, and addressing cyberbullying effectively.
